bridging two cities

miami. dubai. and the chamber of commerce that connects them.... why this matters more than you think.

most chambers of commerce are dead.

they have been dead since the 1980s. they still hold rotary luncheons. they still print magazines no one reads. they are a relic of an era when business meant geography.

then there is the miami-dubai chamber of commerce. brandi kolosky runs it. and what they are building is not a chamber. it is a corridor.

the corridor is the new chamber.

think about it. miami is the soft landing for any capital leaving latin america that wants english law. dubai is the soft landing for any capital leaving the middle east, india, or the cis that wants english law. neither city has a stock exchange that matters globally. but both cities have something better.

they have permission.

permission to move money quickly. permission to hold crypto without being attacked. permission to set up a fund in a week instead of a year. permission to bring your family.

if you put miami and dubai on the same axis.... you have probably 60% of the world's mobile high net worth wealth covered. that is the chamber. that is the corridor.

what brandi is doing is making that corridor legible to founders who do not know it exists yet. she does not call it a corridor. she calls it a chamber. but the chamber is a wrapper. the corridor is the actual product.

most americans do not realize how much of the future is being built outside the us. they assume that delaware is the default jurisdiction. they assume that miami is just a vacation city. they assume that dubai is just a place you fly through.

dubai signed thirty visa programs for founders in the last three years. miami opened a financial passport program in 2024. the friction between the two has dropped by an order of magnitude. you can run a business across both cities now in a way you could not even three years ago.

the lesson is bigger than chambers though. it is this. when the old institutions stop working, the people who build the next institution wrap themselves in the old name. they keep the wrapper. they swap the substance.

so when someone tells you they are running a chamber of commerce.... ask what is actually inside the wrapper.

is yours just a wrapper too?
