Short version: I collect as little as possible, I do not sell any of it, and you can have it deleted by sending one email.
Who this covers
This policy covers sunnyray.com and its subpages, operated by Sunny Ray Holding Inc. in Toronto, Canada. Questions or deletion requests go to contact@sunnyray.com.
What is collected, and when
Most of the site collects nothing at all. You can read every page, watch every episode and page through every presentation without giving up anything. Data is only collected when you choose to do one of the following.
- Signing in with Google. If you sign in, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with this site. Nothing else. No access to your Gmail, Drive, Calendar, contacts or any other Google service is requested or granted.
- Joining the newsletter. Your email address, so the newsletter can be sent to you.
- Booking a call. Scheduling runs through Calendly, which collects your name, email and whatever you type into the booking questions, and puts the meeting on both calendars.
- Buying something. Payments run through Stripe. Card details go to Stripe directly and are never seen or stored by this site.
- Analytics. Aggregate page views via Google Analytics, so I can see which pages are useful. This is not tied to your identity.
What it is used for
Your email is used to reply to you, to send what you asked for, and to keep track of our conversation so I am not starting from scratch each time. If you sign in, your name and picture are used to show you the right things when you come back and to greet you as yourself.
Your data is never sold, rented, or handed to advertisers. It is not used to train any model.
Google sign-in, specifically
Signing in is entirely optional and always will be. Every link that works today keeps working without an account. Signing in only requests the basic profile scopes (your name, email address and profile picture), which Google classifies as non-sensitive. It grants no access to anything else in your Google account, and you can revoke it at any time from your Google account permissions page.
Who else touches your data
Only the services required to run the site: Netlify (hosting), Google (sign-in and analytics), Calendly (scheduling), Stripe (payments) and an email provider for sending newsletters and replies. Each of them holds only what their part of the job requires.
How long it is kept
As long as it is useful for the conversation we are having, or until you ask for it to be removed. Ask, and it is gone, along with any account created by signing in.
Your rights
You can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for a copy, or ask for all of it to be deleted. Email contact@sunnyray.com and it will be handled. No forms, no hoops.
Cookies
A session cookie is set only if you sign in, so the site can remember it is you between pages. Analytics sets its own cookie. There is no advertising or cross-site tracking on this site.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes with it.
