Sunny Ray talks with hypnotherapist and Bitcoiner Heather Keys, host of the Unhypnotized podcast, about the hidden patterns that keep people stuck and how Bitcoin became a portal to sovereignty for her. Heather explains how a near-death experience at age 12 set her on a healing path, leading to over 8,000 hypnosis sessions and exploration of more than 108 healing modalities before she went full time in her practice in 2013. She describes hypnosis not as control but as a state everyone drifts into daily, and how the pandemic pushed her online and into a dark night of the soul that cracked open her understanding of money. A synchronistic meeting with a Bitcoin ATM owner became her real orange pill, though it took the Bitcoin community itself to fully pull her in. The conversation covers stage hypnosis myths, the medical history of hypnotherapy, numerology, and how she now coaches Bitcoiners through her Proof of Mind membership instead of general money mindset work, focused on unhypnotizing people from systems that no longer serve them.
A hypnotherapist explains how unhypnotizing herself from old money patterns led her straight into Bitcoin.
Can you share what it is you actually do as a hypnotherapist, Bitcoin advocate, and podcast host?
I see hypnosis, astrology, and Bitcoin as modalities I use to help people see through patterns keeping them stuck. Most people aren't stuck from lack of knowledge, they're stuck because they haven't understood the hypnosis running their bad habits. Over 8,000 sessions I realized I wasn't hypnotizing anyone, I was unhypnotizing them so they could tap into their own wisdom. Once I found Bitcoin, it was another level up I couldn't go back from.
Take us back to before hypnosis was even on your radar. What were you into as a kid?
I never dreamed of being a hypnotist, I didn't even know it was a real job. Two things led me there: I had to heal ailments I'd carried my whole life, and I had a near-death experience at 12. I died and came to in the ambulance, then really woke up in the hospital. I kept revisiting that moment in hypnotic regression later in life, and it changed me forever.
You went full time with your practice in 2013, only two years after being trained. What gave you the confidence to go all in?
Honestly, I was fearless. I left a 12 year marriage, my son was three, I quit my job, and went full time in my practice all at once. Through hypnosis I felt so connected that I just knew what I had to do and did it. There were little signs along the way too, like moving into a condo called Sedona and then actually going to Sedona's vortexes.
You've said you've explored over 108 healing modalities. What sent you on that journey and how did it shape your work?
I've never believed hypnosis is the only answer, everyone finds what they need when they need it. What I learned from trying everything, from energy work to shamanism, is that unless you go deep into the mind to where a belief or imprint was planted, you stay stuck in intellectual knowledge. Trans work and hypnosis get you into your higher mind and body so things actually resolve instead of just being coped with.
How does a hypnotherapist end up in the Bitcoin world? Walk us through the moment Bitcoin clicked for you.
It was a slow drip that started around 2020 during a dark night of the soul. I'd spent almost a decade serving people as a single mom, growing my business, yet felt more taxed and less supported the harder I worked. Once I really understood Bitcoin, not just as a coin to speculate on, I saw why I'd gone through that pain, and it lifted the veil on what success and worth actually mean.
What was the gap between first hearing about Bitcoin and truly understanding it?
I went to a BTM in my city to buy Bitcoin and happened to meet the owner, who needed a hypnotherapist while I needed help setting up a wallet. It was a synchronistic match, and we had long conversations connecting Bitcoin, mining, and the three principles of thought, mind, and consciousness. That grew my knowledge, but what really pulled me in for good was the Bitcoin community itself.
Tell us about the Unhypnotized podcast. What's the mission and who are you trying to reach?
It's for Bitcoiners and non-Bitcoiners alike, anyone who wants to understand why they keep repeating patterns. Hypnosis isn't inherently bad, if a belief serves you it's fine, but if it doesn't, it's time to unhypnotize yourself, whether that's a victim mindset or outsourcing your authority to the military, monetary, or health industrial complexes. Bitcoin fits because if you got to Bitcoin, you already unhypnotized yourself around money on some level.
You now offer Bitcoin consulting alongside hypnotherapy. What does a typical engagement look like these days?
I actually stopped pure money mindset consulting because I found I was mostly helping people talk themselves out of Bitcoin. Now that's shifting into a group course inside my membership called Proof of Mind. I coach Bitcoiners one on one or in groups, using hypnosis when needed, but conversation alone can unhypnotize people too. It's deeper work supporting people who are already Bitcoiners rather than orange pilling from zero.
