What we talked about.

This episode of Spark Tank features seven founders pitching to a panel of six VCs, each given three minutes to present followed by rapid investor feedback. Ilia of Comeback Mobility opens with a smart crutch tip device that uses AI and finite element analysis to guide weight bearing after lower limb fractures, citing clinical data showing 74% patient compliance versus 21% in standard care and faster healing times. Investors praise the clarity of the pitch but push on valuation, regulatory pathway, and expansion beyond tibia fractures. Marin Boyd Andrews then presents her AI platform offering ready to use, trained AI employees for HR, marketing, sales, and talent functions, aiming to keep humans in the loop rather than fully automating work. VCs question her broad, multi agent approach, urging her to focus on a single vertical or wedge, and probe her subscription pricing model, margins, and scalability given a small development team. The segment showcases fast paced startup evaluation across medtech and AI sectors.

The questions, and the answers.

What problem does Comeback Mobility solve?

We help patients get rid of crutches faster and avoid reoperations. Too much load can break fixation, too little delays healing. We use CT scan based finite element analysis to calculate optimal load, then our app and smart crutch tips guide and measure every step in real time, with AI monitoring compliance and contacting patients if they don't follow prescriptions.

How does the reusable device get monetized by clinics?

It's not a one time use device, it's reusable. Clinics buy a pair for 3500 dollars and bill insurance companies for remote patient monitoring, biofeedback training, and device setup using three existing CPT codes, earning more than 10,000 dollars within two years per device.

What is the funding history and current ask?

We've raised 3.5 million so far from investors including Techstars, and VCs from New York, Ukraine, and Cyprus, at a 15 million cap via convertible loans and SAFEs. We need an additional half million at the same valuation to complete clinical trials and obtain reimbursement, finishing around March 2028 at current enrollment speed.

How could this expand beyond tibia fractures?

There are many lower limb injuries like meniscus tears, revisional hip and knee replacements, ACL reconstruction, and limb lengthening. But medicine is data driven, so we must provide clinical evidence first before insurance reimburses each case. We're focusing on tibia fractures, the biggest need with the most expensive complications, to become the standard of care before expanding.

What is the core offering of Marin's AI platform?

We built a platform of ready to use AI employees trained on 90 hours plus tested for another 30 hours, so they're highly skilled in an industry or profession. They have vision, voice, and text, work beside human teams, and pass conversations to other AI employees when needed, keeping humans in the loop rather than automating everything in the background.

What is the revenue model and current scale?

We run a subscription model where companies choose the number of seats they want, transparent pricing from enterprise down to founders. We've built 27 AI employees with 16 more in production, run by about eight developers, and we're targeting an exit strategy in roughly eight years.

VCs pushed Marin on focus, what was her response?

We do focus by talking to companies about their industry, but businesses quickly want to expand across other AI agents once they see them, like HR then marketing then talent. We've tried to concentrate on what most businesses need most, which is marketing, sales, talent, and HR.
