Alex traces her path from management consulting and early Bitcoin work in 2012, through founding sports community startup Together and crypto venture Lamborow, to a personal development company called True Me. That project revealed a key insight, most people do not think of themselves as technical and will never download another app. This realization shaped Relay, an infrastructure layer that lets everyday users interact with AI agents through WhatsApp, SMS, Signal or Telegram instead of a new app. Alex explains how Relay uses layered context graphs to keep agent behavior deterministic and safe, addressing widespread fear of AI hallucination. Can you share a couple sentences on Relay and the company you're building today?
Relay is what we think of as the most accessible agentic environment. We deeply believe accessibility is the next big thing for AI, and we solve it. It takes about 20 seconds to get our agents on your phone. We are collecting our first users right now.
Where are you from originally, and did you grow up in Poland?
I was born and grew up in Poland, then at 18 I moved to Spain, studied in France and Argentina, and lived in Paris, the UK and the US. A year and a half ago I moved back from London to Poland to spend quality time with family before my next big thing.
How did you get into Bitcoin and startups?
I got involved with Bitcoin in 2012 through a friend, and we later opened a startup together. Living in London I fell in love with startups, starting with Together, a platform connecting people for sports, and then Lamborow, a crypto oriented Lamborghini rental business that traveled to crypto conferences worldwide.
How do you go about getting everyday people excited about or willing to try AI?
Through my previous company True Me, I talked to hundreds of people about self-awareness and kept hearing 'I'm not technical.' But everyone using a smartphone today is more technical than people were 20 years ago. Most people just want simple help, like sorting emails or adding a calendar reminder, which agents can easily do.
Are you able to share what technology you're leveraging, things like open source models or Claude?
I don't want to share too much since it's our IP, but we use two context graphs, one that acts as a brain understanding user behavior, and one enforcing rules for how Relay should interact. Our key obsession is being a deterministic layer so the LLM has very little room for hallucination.
