What we talked about.

In the 13th edition of Spark Tank, host Sunny Ray joins fellow investors Charles Scormium of GTM Ventures, Rob Stevens of Somerset Capital, and Mike Fineman of Texas Business Brokers to hear pitches from four founders competing for investment and feedback. Brian Wallace, a former payments executive who led Exactuals before its sale to City National Bank and Royal Bank of Canada, presents Forward Inheritance, a platform that organizes estate documents, assets, and liquidity solutions to help American families manage generational wealth transfer before a crisis forces the issue. Joe McCann then pitches AI.fo, an AI powered financial reasoning tool built to give founders of sub 50 million dollar businesses the judgment of a CFO, flagging cash flow risks, hiring impact, and revenue leakage straight from QuickBooks data. Both founders field pointed questions from the panel on business model clarity, defensibility, distribution, and go to market strategy. The episode captures the panel format that defines Spark Tank, blending candid critique with genuine enthusiasm as investors probe unit economics, stickiness, and long term exit potential before the show moves on to its remaining pitches.

The questions, and the answers.

Is your wedge families seeking liquidity, or families needing estate organization, and what evidence shows they convert from one into the other?

For the 12 million families with 1 to 5 million dollar estates, someone with a 1 million dollar estate probably needs liquidity right away, so we offer solutions to help them today. A family with a 5 million dollar estate usually doesn't need that liquidity yet, so we bring them in on the SAS side to organize everything first. Then, maybe in year two or three, they need liquidity and we're already there. We use liquidity as a go to market motion for families who don't even realize they're wealthy.

How do you make this hard to replicate? Is it more than just the interface, like the data, the workflow, or your partnerships?

Once we onboard a family, that becomes a very sticky solution, especially since we steward them through their whole journey and help them save and make money every year. A wealth manager is already white labeling our software, and those families are never going to leave. We hold all their documentation, an accounting of their assets, and their named beneficiaries. That's the family's data, not the wealth manager's or the estate attorney's, so we built this for the family to control their own fate.

What evidence is there that Americans need this, like what percentage die without a will or a plan in place?

About 50 percent of homeowners in America currently don't have a will, and that statistic is on slide two of our deck. Most families put off this paperwork through marriage, having kids, or divorce, thinking they'll get to it later. Then a medical problem hits and mañana becomes today, and suddenly there's no time left to plan. That's why we believe families need to organize their estate before the emergency, not during it, or they'll end up in probate instead.

If I ask, for example, can I afford this hire, does it show the exact runway impact before I decide?

Yes, it does. We built that into our deterministic layer using your payroll information and average costs, plus the anticipated salary and fully loaded cost for the new hire. From there you see the downstream effect on the next three, six, and twelve months. We take it a step further too, telling you whether to hold off three or six months or whether you're good to go with the hire right now.

How does the system handle messier data, like miscoded QuickBooks entries?

Right now we're only working off closed data. Once you close your month in QuickBooks, our system takes over and runs the full analysis on everything, giving you live numbers on burn and other ongoing signals. We're not yet handling messy or uncoded data in real time, so the deeper analysis kicks in specifically once that month has been closed out in QuickBooks.

Can it push alerts, or do I have to log in every time to check?

No, it pushes alerts straight to the founder's email rather than requiring you to log in constantly. Behind that, we're running signals continuously on where your money is leaking, what's happening with collections, and what's driving issues in the business, so you get an in depth understanding without having to check the dashboard every day.
