execution is not the bottleneck anymore

what is left when building the thing is basically free?

i watched someone's face change today. in about ten minutes, just by talking to a computer, a fully working assistant got built in front of him. trained on his own knowledge, answering real questions in seconds. he said he was in shock. he said he would pay right now.

that reaction is the whole story. the wall between an idea and a working version of it has basically fallen down. building the thing used to be the hard part. it isn't.

so what is left when execution is free? two things. agency, the willingness to actually go. and taste, knowing which thing is worth building at all. neither of those comes from a model. they come from you.

if the building is no longer the excuse, what is?
