the deal you quote on the call is the deal

i caught myself quoting a different price on calls than my own docs say. here is why honoring the smaller number wins.

i caught something embarrassing this week. the price i quote founders live on calls is not always the price my documents say.

excitement does that. you are riding the energy of a great conversation and you round down, throw in extras, make it easy.

the old me would quietly fix the paperwork to the higher number. the current me does the opposite: whatever left my mouth on that call is the deal. every time.

because the number was never the point. trust was. a founder who hears one price on tuesday and reads another on thursday learns something about you that no discount can buy back.

revenue you win by walking back your own word is the most expensive revenue there is.

so now my system flags every gap between what i said and what i sent, and the spoken number wins.

what did you promise someone this week that your paperwork forgot?
