the proof was for the wrong product
a deck can be beautiful and still be arguing the wrong case.
i reviewed a raise deck this week where the human proof data belonged to a completely different product than the one being funded. same company, different molecule, and the person walking into investor meetings had no idea, because the founder never briefed their own team.
a pitch deck is not a design problem. it is a logic problem. if the evidence does not match the ask, no amount of polish saves you, and the investor who catches it stops trusting every other slide.
the deeper failure was internal. the person doing the meetings was armed with the wrong case because information stopped at the founder's desk. investors eventually see whatever your team cannot.
when did you last check that your proof actually proves the thing you are selling?
